The painting "Quiet Harbor" is an oil on canvas depiction of the schooner Emma C. Berry just before her final restoration to return her to the original configuration of a sloop.
Built in 1866 as a sloop, known as a Noank smack, she was rigged as a schooner in 1886, taken to Maine and sailed as a fishing vessel until 1924. Donated to Mystic Seaport in 1969, she was restored to a sloop around 1987 and designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1994.
